Jakarta (ANTARA) - Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Chairman of the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction following the Sumatra disaster, has channelled aid in the form of five ambulance units to support healthcare services at five community health centres impacted by hydrometeorological disasters in Takengon, Central Aceh. According to a statement from the Task Force, Tito stated that the ambulances were directly handed over by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to the Regent of Central Aceh, Haili Yoga, and are intended for five disaster-affected puskesmas that were previously isolated in Central Aceh. “These five vehicles from the Health Minister (Budi Gunadi Sadikin) will be beneficial for healthcare workers in Central Aceh,” Tito said. Tito emphasised that the recovery of health facilities (faskes) has been a key focus of the Task Force since its establishment by President Prabowo Subianto. Health facilities serve as the frontline in social recovery for disaster survivors. “Therefore, together with the Health Minister, I am handing over a number of vehicles and health equipment support from the Ministry of Health to all disaster-affected areas, including Central Aceh Regency,” he said. Central Aceh Regent Haili Yoga stated that the five ambulances provided by the Task Force will be immediately used to strengthen the five puskesmas services that were previously isolated and in need of additional mobility transport. The five puskesmas consist of: Bintang Health Centre, Kepuyang, Pamar, Ketapang, and Jagung. “On behalf of the people of Central Aceh, we express our thanks to the Health Minister, and it was given to the Interior Minister and the Deputy Governor of Aceh, for the five isolated puskesmas. The community is delighted with the extraordinary attention from the government. These ambulances are to serve the people. So I am happy, and I hope the puskesmas staff will be motivated,” said Haili Yoga. The visit by Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Head of the Task Force for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra, to Central Aceh is part of a series of agendas to review the progress of rehabilitation and reconstruction post-disaster, as well as to monitor the latest developments in the condition of disaster survivors in Aceh.
