Head of Nutrition Service Unit in Central Lombok Allegedly Sexually Harasses Subordinate

A Head of the Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) with the initials SA in Praya District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is suspected of sexually harassing a subordinate. The alleged perpetrator carried out his actions by inviting the victim to work on reports in a secluded place. The case came to light after a mediation video between the alleged perpetrator and the victim in a room went viral on social media. In the video, a victim is heard sobbing and expressing her distress at being fondled by the alleged perpetrator. The video was first uploaded by the Facebook account @Bang_Guru and has been viewed 861 times with hundreds of reactions. “You know, sir, I was not facing the back because I was focused on working on the report, but I felt it twice. Yes, twice,” the victim said in the video. The alleged perpetrator is also heard in the video denying the act. He stated that he invited the victim to a quiet place to focus more on completing the report. He also claimed he did it intentionally to seek a different sensation because he was feeling stressed. “I already said, let’s go, sis, where do you want to go. I’m feeling dizzy like this, it’s cold. Now, brother wants ice cream,” the alleged perpetrator said during the meeting. The victim responded that the reason the alleged perpetrator took her to a secluded place was to freely carry out his actions. She had tried to check the CCTV but found nothing. However, she stated that she felt a touch on her head. “That’s why you went to another quiet place. That’s why when you left earlier, I immediately went to check if the CCTV caught it or not. There wasn’t any, it didn’t record. But there was no CCTV. Why do I dare to speak like this? Because I felt it,” she said. Meanwhile, SA, when contacted by detikBali via WhatsApp message, had not yet provided a response as of the time this news was published. Separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Central Lombok Police, AKP Punguan Hutahean, admitted that he had not yet received a report regarding the alleged harassment. According to him, his party has coordinated with the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA), but so far no official report has been filed. “I asked the PPA Unit Head, and they said there was none,” he said via WhatsApp.
