Head of National Nutrition Agency Denies Budget for Laptops and Utensils Reaches Rp 4 Trillion, Here is the Clarification
JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, confirmed the existence of procurement budgets for items such as eating utensils and laptops, which have recently come under public scrutiny.
However, Dadan denied that the budget utilised amounted to Rp 4 trillion.
“The procurement exists, but not to the extent mentioned. For example, 32,000 units of laptops and eating utensils worth Rp 4 trillion is completely untrue,” Dadan emphasised in an official statement on Monday (13/4/2026).
Dadan stressed that the procurement of laptops, eating utensils, and even socks was carried out according to actual needs in the field.
“The laptop procurement is not 32,000 units as circulated, but only around 5,000 units throughout 2025,” he asserted.
Additionally, the procurement of eating utensils was only for 315 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) built through state budget (APBN) financing.
“The eating utensils procurement is only for 315 SPPG funded by the APBN with a budget ceiling of around Rp 215 billion,” he explained.
Dadan assured that the construction of these APBN-based SPPG had been established based on a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) from relevant ministers.
According to him, this realisation demonstrates that the procurement was carried out efficiently and did not exceed the allocated budget.
“For kitchen equipment procurement, the budget ceiling was set at Rp 252.42 billion with a realisation of around Rp 245.81 billion,” he stated.
Dadan claimed that all procurements were measured and adjusted to the operational needs of each SPPG.
“There is no budget wastage in its implementation,” said Dadan.
