Head of LPDP Reminds Alumni: Uphold Ethics, Morality, and National Values!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Director of the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), Sudarto, has reminded all alumni who received scholarships to uphold ethics, morality, and national values. This is because the education costs they received came from the taxes paid by the Indonesian people.

“I need to convey to all LPDP alumni that in the future, please uphold ethics, morality, and national values. Once again, all of you were able to pursue higher education, such as Master’s, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral degrees, thanks to the people’s money,” said Sudarto during a media briefing on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

This refers to the recent controversy involving Dwi Sasetningtyas, an LPDP scholarship recipient, who posted about her child’s citizenship and made controversial statements.

Sudarto also said that LPDP can continue to operate because of public trust in the management of state funds. He added that LPDP has another purpose, namely ‘You Use Tax Money’.

“I remind you that LPDP, you use tax money. LPDP continues to operate because of public trust, so let’s maintain that trust. Let’s prove that the public’s hope in establishing this endowment fund for education is a long-term investment that has an impact,” he said.
