Head of Legislative Body States Single Data Bill Formulated for Planned National Development
Jakarta — The Head of the House of Representatives’ Legislative Body (Baleg), Bob Hasan, has stated that the proposed Single Data Indonesia Bill is necessary to activate all of Indonesia’s data on potential resources to ensure that national development can be planned in a more targeted, organised and effective manner.
“The Single Data Indonesia Bill represents activating all data on all the potential resources available in Indonesia for planned, organised and effective national development,” said Bob when contacted on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The Gerindra politician said the Single Data Indonesia Bill would be a policy initiative of the House of Representatives.
“Yes, it is a DPR initiative,” Bob stated.
In related developments, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that the DPR would begin gathering public input regarding the discussion of the Single Data Indonesia Bill.
“And next, we will immediately discuss the Single Data Law,” said Dasco at Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
The drafting of the regulation has also been informed by field experience, particularly during disaster response operations. According to Dasco, data inconsistencies between various ministries and agencies have frequently created obstacles in distributing aid to disaster-affected communities.
“So in the field, there is also lack of coordination when providing assistance to displaced persons,” he said.
He hopes that through the Single Data Indonesia Bill, data inconsistencies between ministries and agencies will no longer occur, allowing government policies and programmes to operate more effectively.
“For social assistance funds and BPJS coverage, we also see there is still lack of coordination, so we will synchronise this into Single Data so that in future there is no longer data confusion that creates problems in the field,” Dasco explained.
