Head of Indonesian Government Communication Agency to Combine Communication Strategy with AI
Because the most difficult thing for the people to grasp is the President’s mindset.
Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI), Syahganda Nainggolan, stated that he will combine government communication strategies with the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to strengthen the delivery of President Prabowo Subianto’s thoughts and programmes.
Syahganda explained that this step is being taken so that the public can broadly understand the government’s mindset and policy foundations.
“Because the most difficult thing for the people to grasp is the President’s mindset. The programmes are fine, and people see them, but what about the underlying thought process?” said Syahganda following his inauguration at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
Therefore, he intends to continue existing communication programmes while closely monitoring the rapid developments in digital technology.
“Secondly, we will study algorithms. Because the greatest challenge in communication involves algorithms, AI, and so on,” he said.
He assessed that the development of algorithms and the power of artificial intelligence have the potential to cause distortions in the messages delivered by the government to the public.
As a form of anticipation, Bakom RI plans to form a special team to study the impact of algorithms to ensure no gap remains between the President’s vision and the community.
In executing this communication agenda, Syahganda, along with the Deputy Head of Bakom RI, Fadli Tri Hartono, will also continue to utilise current digital technology developments.
