Head of Government Communications Bureau Qodari Explains Why Prabowo Addressed the DPR Plenary Session
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Head of the Government Communications Bureau Muhammad Qodari has stressed the urgency of the speech delivered by President Prabowo Subianto at the 19th Plenary Session of the House of Representatives in the Plenary Hall of the MPR/DPR/DPD complex, the Parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 May 2026). Prabowo presented the Macro Economic Framework and the Macro Economic Policy Outline of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2027.
“We in the government are very aware of how important the President’s speech today is… Because this is the macroeconomic framework for Indonesia for next year and the policies that the President has just conveyed directly,” Qodari said at the press conference.
In addition to presenting the KEMPPKF for Fiscal Year 2027, Prabowo also announced the issuance of a Government Regulation on the governance of exports of natural resources. Where the sale of all natural resource outputs must pass through a Special Export State-Owned Enterprise named PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia.
According to him, this step is a comprehensive government effort to safeguard Indonesia’s natural resource wealth while ensuring that those resources are used to the greatest extent for the welfare of the people, from upstream to downstream.
“For upstream policy we have often heard about; we have often witnessed how law enforcement in the natural resources sector has been implemented, and today the President also stated this,” said Qodari.
One instrument of the government is the Satuan Tugas Penertiban Kawasan Hutan (Forest Area Enforcement Task Force), which has reclaimed almost 6 million hectares of palm oil plantation land with assets seized amounting to Rp 45 trillion.
Meanwhile, on the downstream side, Qodari said Prabowo issued the PP on the governance of natural resource exports. The issuance of such policy was driven by numerous unscrupulous practices that harmed the state, such as under invoicing.
“Therefore, an effort to enforce and implement the governance of natural resource products in trade has been introduced, particularly for palm oil, coal and mixed iron ore which have long faced issues as described earlier,” he said.
Furthermore, Qodari ensured that Prabowo’s policy is derived from the opening of the 1945 Constitution and Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.
