Jakarta — The planned execution of Hotel Sultan in the Gelora Bung Karno area has drawn renewed scrutiny. The legal team representing PT Indobuildco’s Director General has lodged a complaint with the Judicial Commission (KY) against the Head of the Central Jakarta District Court and the Head of the Jakarta High Court.

The complaint was filed because they believe the execution process for Hotel Sultan is being forced, despite the dispute still being processed at the appellate level and potentially continuing to the cassation stage.

PT Indobuildco’s legal counsel, Hamdan Zoelva, stated that an official complaint was submitted to the Judicial Commission on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

“Today, we have filed a complaint to the Judicial Commission regarding Hotel Sultan. We are lodging complaints against the Head of the Central Jakarta District Court and the Head of the Jakarta High Court,” Hamdan told reporters.

Hamdan believes there has been differential treatment in the handling of the case. “This clearly demonstrates unequal treatment before the law,” he said.

He explained that the dispute related to Hotel Sultan is currently undergoing legal proceedings at the appellate level. Moreover, he stated, the case could potentially proceed to the cassation stage.

“There is a summary judgment or a ruling that is immediately enforceable from the court that is currently being processed, which we are appealing at the appellate level, and the appeal is under examination, and of course it will continue through the cassation process,” Hamdan explained.

Hamdan also highlighted a previous provisional ruling that, according to him, was not enforced by the relevant parties. He noted that prior to Decision Number 208/Pdt.G/2025/PN.Jkt.Pst, there was a Provisional Decision Number 667/Pdt.G/2023/PN.Jkt.Pst dated 24 January 2024.

However, this ruling is said not to have been enforced for months. Even on 29 October 2024, the Central Jakarta District Court refused to enforce the provisional ruling, claiming it had not received authorisation from the Head of the Jakarta High Court.

Hamdan emphasised that the complaint to the Judicial Commission was filed because his team believes there are serious procedural violations in the planned execution.

“There are serious procedural violations that concern the function of the judiciary. The court cannot claim this is a judicial technical matter; this is a violation that should also receive the attention of the KY,” he said.
