Head of BGN States Electric Motorcycles for SPPG Cost Rp 42 Million: Below Market Price
JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has revealed that electric motorcycles for the Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) cost Rp 42 million per unit. Dadan emphasised that the amount paid by BGN is far below the market price for the purchased electric motorcycles. “The market price is Rp 52 million, but we bought them—if I’m not mistaken—for Rp 42 million, below the market price,” Dadan stated at the Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026). He mentioned that from the target purchase of 24,400 electric motorcycles, BGN could only realise 21,800 units. “And they are already included in the 2025 budget,” he said. He explained that the electric motorcycles will be distributed to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchens located in remote areas. “Yes, we will distribute them later for the operations of all personnel in the SPPG, especially in remote areas,” Dadan added. This issue surfaced following a video showing dozens of electric motorcycles bearing the BGN logo that went viral on social media. In the video uploaded by the TikTok account @NOVIR007 on Monday (6/4/2026), it was narrated that there were 70,000 units of motorcycles specifically for the West Java region. “I’m spilling this: all these motorcycles, 70,000 units for the West Java province alone. Now, are they for all employees or just the SPPG kitchen heads? I’m not sure, I don’t want to spread hoaxes, but clearly, there are 70,000 units just for West Java province,” the narrator said. After the video went viral, Dadan confirmed that the electric motorcycle units indeed belong to BGN to support the operations of the Free Nutritious Meals programme, particularly for the Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG).
