Head of BGN: Procurement of SPPG Motorcycles for Areas with Difficult Access
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that the procurement of around 20,000 motorcycles for the Heads of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) is intended for regions with difficult transportation access. Speaking ahead of a briefing with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, the Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, explained that the motorcycle procurement is part of the planning for 2025 and has been realised with 21,801 units out of 25,000 ordered. “We will distribute them later for operational purposes to all personnel in the SPPG, especially in difficult areas,” said the Head of BGN, Dadan. When asked by reporters about the urgency of the procurement for the SPPG Heads, he explained that their use is primarily in areas with difficult transportation access to ensure the smooth distribution of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG). “This programme reaches areas that are very difficult to access, covering villages and regions that can only be reached by motorcycle,” he added. These motorcycles will be used to support SPPG operations and the distribution of MBG in those areas. Regarding procurement for this year, he mentioned there are no plans to add more motorcycle units. Previously, in a statement on Tuesday (7/4), he confirmed that the motorcycles budgeted for 2025 for the SPPG Heads have not yet been officially distributed. Dadan explained that before distribution, the available vehicles must still go through administrative processes as state-owned goods (BMN) before they can be used. The realisation of the motorcycle procurement will begin gradually in December 2025. Dadan conveyed this in response to a video circulating on various social media platforms showing motorcycles with the BGN logo.
