Bogor Regency (ANTARA) - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has emphasised that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is a key partner in accelerating the construction of kitchens for the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG), or the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme kitchens.

Dadan made this statement while inaugurating the Cijujung 03 SPPG in Cijujung Village, Sukaraja Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday.

Dadan expressed appreciation for Kadin’s contributions, particularly Kadin Bogor Regency, which has actively participated in building and operating MBG kitchens within communities.

“I extend my utmost thanks to Kadin. You are all red-and-white warriors,” said Dadan.

He stressed that without the involvement of partners like Kadin, the construction of SPPG facilities would proceed much more slowly if reliant solely on the government.

According to him, BGN has a budget of around Rp6 trillion for SPPG construction in 2025, but its realisation is limited and not all facilities are yet operational.

“The role of these partners is extraordinary. Without partners, we would face great difficulties in accelerating SPPG construction,” he stated.

Dadan explained that the existence of SPPG is not only focused on fulfilling community nutrition but also on driving local economic growth.

One SPPG kitchen, he said, can manage a budget of up to Rp1 billion per month, with the majority used to purchase raw materials from farmers, herders, fishermen, and MSME actors.

Additionally, SPPG operations absorb local labour, with dozens of volunteers recruited from the surrounding community.

“This is not just about nutrition, but also about mobilising the community economy,” he said.

He also emphasised the importance of strengthening the supply chain to ensure that SPPG food needs can be met sustainably.

Dadan hopes that collaboration between the government, business world, and society can continue to be strengthened to ensure the MBG programme runs optimally and provides broad benefits.

Meanwhile, the Chair of Kadin Bogor Regency, Sintha Dec Checawaty, stated her side’s commitment to fully supporting the MBG programme through the construction of SPPG kitchens.

She noted that Kadin views the MBG programme as a strategic step to directly mobilise the community economy.

“We are committed to providing the best services to the community and fully supporting the government programme,” said Sintha.

Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the MBG programme will not only improve community nutrition quality but also strengthen regional economic resilience.
