Padang City (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) states that it has successfully established more than 27,000 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in Indonesia within one year and four months as an effort to succeed the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG). “Only within one year and four months, we have succeeded in establishing 27,000 SPPG spread from Sabang to Merauke,” said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana in Padang City, West Sumatra, on Wednesday. This means, Dadan stated, that currently BGN has 27,000 SPPG heads, 27,000 nutritionists, 27,000 accountants, and 1.1 million volunteers ready to succeed one of President Prabowo Subianto’s AstaCita. “And from the funds entering the virtual account in each SPPG, 70 percent is used to purchase raw materials,” said Dadan. He conveyed that the MBG championed by President Prabowo not only aims to produce and form superior and healthy human resources (HR). But also directly impacts various sectors, from agriculture to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Based on reports from several regions, Dadan mentioned that the MBG Programme has also succeeded in reducing poverty and unemployment figures and has a positive impact on the Gini ratio. “I received reports that the community is also enthusiastic about farming, planting, raising livestock, and so on. Hopefully in Padang and West Sumatra as well,” said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana.
