Head of Bappisus to MBG Entrepreneurs: Don't Just Think About Profit and Profit

JAKARTA - The Head of the Special Development Control and Investigation Agency (Bappisus), Aris Marsudiyanto, has asked entrepreneurs affiliated with the Indonesian Association of Nutritious Free Meal Entrepreneurs and Managers (APPMBGI) not to think only about profits. “I ask the gentlemen and ladies here, as entrepreneurs, please don’t just think profit, profit, profit, profit, and profit,” Aris said at the APPMBGI National Summit 2026 in East Jakarta on Saturday (25/4/2026). “So the current Nutritious Free Meal index level has been calculated mathematically in real terms and implemented in the field with the existing prices,” he added. Therefore, he requested that the entrepreneurs in this association take responsibility for providing proper quality food to the nation’s children. “Please convey this to all your fellow entrepreneurs, there are now around 22,000 SPPG entrepreneurs who share the responsibility to improve this nation as best as possible,” he further stated. At least, according to Aris, around 1,700 SPPG have been temporarily suspended for violating regulations. They were suspended so they can make immediate improvements. “Up to this moment, I am continuously coordinating with BGN; already 1,700 SPPG have been suspended for temporary evaluation. They must make improvements and submit proposals for corrections,” he said. “I also saw the meat being cut; if one chicken might become 12, now it’s 16, 20. The catfish portions, eggs—perhaps it should be three, four, five times a week, but eggs maybe only twice, and so on,” he explained. On the other hand, Aris highlighted the importance of water quality in the Nutritious Free Meal programme. “I am also continuously communicating with BGN that water quality is very important. The food may be good, but if the water is bad, it will cause poisoning. Water is not just about bacteria but also other chemical elements and metal elements,” he clarified.
