Head of Bappisus Claims All MBG Budgets Have Been Calculated: No Need to Worry

The head of the Special Development Control and Investigation Agency (Bappisus), Aris Marsudiyanto, has spoken out regarding the budget of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) related to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which has drawn criticism and gone viral in the public eye. Aris claims that all budgets have been properly accounted for and are not reckless. “There is no (recklessness); everything has been calculated, measured well, cooked well, brewed well, and coordinated with all stakeholders,” said Aris Marsudiyanto to reporters at the APPMBGI National Summit in East Jakarta on Saturday (25/4/2026). Aris stated that all costs related to MBG have been planned. He asked the public not to worry. “So all MBG costs are all planned, so no need to worry,” he said. Aris stated that Bappisus always conducts supervision if there is any budget deviation related to MBG. He said that if there is any deviation, it will be addressed and resolved. “If there are deviations or anything not right, we always monitor; what is not good we act on, what is not right we fix everything, we regulate it. Because this programme is extraordinary; we have already reached over 60 million in a little over a year, whereas Brazil took 11 years for 40 million beneficiaries,” he said. As is known, recently the use of the budget by BGN has been spotlighted by the public. This is because there are several budgets considered excessive, such as the procurement of electric motorcycles, socks, and the latest, a quite fantastic Zoom budget.
