JAKARTA — The Head of the Army’s Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General Donny Pramono, has clarified that Alert Level 1 status has now been withdrawn. He stated that the TNI’s status has moved to Alert Level 3 in preparation for Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

“We are not implementing Alert Level 1. However, in terms of preparedness, we are implementing Alert Level 3 activity because we will also be conducting Eid al-Fitr activities. During this Eid al-Fitr period, some TNI members may take leave. Of course, this will be done on a rotational basis. Naturally, all our personnel remain alert,” Pramono said at Army Headquarters in Central Jakarta on Friday evening (13 March 2026).

He emphasised that Alert Level 3 status now applies across all TNI units. “As I mentioned earlier, through TNI Headquarters and the TNI Information Bureau, we have moved from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 3. This is a stage of preparedness. We didn’t start at level 3. Alert Level 1 means we are fully prepared,” Pramono said.

He explained the confusion that had arisen following the release of a telegram from TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto regarding instructions for all TNI units to implement Alert Level 1. Pramono also denied claims of disagreement between the TNI Commander and Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak.
