The Judicial Commission (KY) has conducted an ethics investigation into the non-active head of Depok District Court (PN Depok), I Wayan Eka Mariarta, and his deputy, Bambang Setyawan, at the Red and White Building of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday, 13 March.

Previously, both individuals were designated as suspects in a case alleging the receipt of gifts or promises in connection with the settlement of a land dispute at PN Depok.

“Several matters we questioned today certainly relate to ethics violations by the head and deputy head of Depok District Court,” said KY Deputy Chairman Desmihardi to journalists at the KPK’s Red and White Building.

Following the investigation, Desmihardi stated that the findings would still be discussed at a KY plenary session before recommendations regarding the two suspects are issued.

“The recommendations will be discussed and decided at a plenary session of the Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia,” Desmihardi said.

Regarding another suspect, Yohansyah Maruanaya, a process server (Jurusita) at PN Depok, was already examined on Thursday, 12 March.

“We actually conducted the investigation yesterday as well. Yesterday our team also examined another suspect from the judicial officer and process server,” said Abhan, head of the KY’s Judicial Oversight and Investigation Division.

In this case, the KPK has designated five individuals as suspects. Three are from PN Depok while the other two are from PT Karabha Digdaya.

Eka and Bambang, together with Yohansyah, and Tri, together with Berliana, are alleged to have violated Article 605(a) and/or Article 606(1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Code, as amended by Law Number 31 of 1999, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption.
