Hayam Wuruk Online Gambling Syndicate Uses 75 Domains with Character Combinations to Avoid Blocking
JAKARTA - An international online gambling syndicate raided in Hayam Wuruk, West Jakarta, is suspected of using 75 domains and websites to conduct its operations.
“Investigators have found approximately 75 domains and websites suspected of being used as online gambling facilities,” said Director of General Criminal Acts at Bareskrim Polri, Brigjen Pol Wira Satya Triputra, during a press conference on Saturday (9/5/2026).
“(The domains) use certain character combinations and gambling label variables to avoid blocking,” he explained.
The details include 228 Vietnamese nationals, 57 Chinese nationals, 13 Myanmar nationals, 11 Laotian nationals, five Thai nationals, and three each from Malaysia and Cambodia.
“The perpetrators were caught red-handed, meaning they were arrested while conducting operational activities or online gambling activities,” he stated.
Investigators seized several pieces of evidence, including passports, mobile phones, laptops, computers, safes, and cash in various foreign currencies.
Previously reported, Bareskrim Polri and Polda Metro Jaya raided a building on Hayam Wuruk Street, West Jakarta, which was used as a hub for international online gambling.
Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said that fully armed Brimob members were on guard to anticipate potential security disturbances, given the scale of the operation targeting a cross-border syndicate network.
