Hawkers swarm election office

PALU, Central Sulawesi: The Provincial Elections Committee
office has been overwhelmed by food and drink hawkers who have
flocked there to obtain campaign schedules.

The stream of inquiries was triggered by disappointment over
Thursday's cancellation of Indonesian Democratic Party of
Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) campaigns without notice.

Dozens of food and drink hawkers who came to the field were
disappointed and swore they would never trust anybody but the
election committee.

"We won't even trust the media," said Mas Dahlan, 32, a cold
drink hawker. So he led his fellow hawkers to "raid" the
committee office, Antara reported.
