Hats off to RI Police
Hats off to RI Police
From Koran Tempo
About 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 21, 2002, we were surprised to learn from the television that the police had arrested Imam Samudra, who was about to board a ferry to Bakauheni port, Lampung, from Merak in Banten.
It is to be hoped that the interrogation of Iman will be conducted in a more professional, more objective and more transparent manner than in previous cases so as to reveal the real truth. The law enforcement agencies are faced with a great challenge in that they must punish criminals without fear nor favor.
The meting out of severe punishment to criminals must not be considered as a merciless or inhumane act as such severe punishment is needed to save mankind and humanity.
Whatever the reason is, terror is terror. It is a form of cruelty that every religion prohibits. Terror has nothing to do with religion.
Hats off to the police for indefatigably hunting down the perpetrators of the Bali bomb blasts. This is a great achievement indeed and is better that what the U.S. police were able to do after the WTC twin towers were brought down as the perpetrators of this are still at large.
