Hasto Reveals Meeting Between President Prabowo and Megawati at Merdeka Palace, Here's the Leaked Information
Jakarta, VIVA – Secretary General of the PDI Perjuangan Central Executive Board, Hasto Kristiyanto, has spoken out regarding the meeting between Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace today, Thursday, 19 March 2026.
He confirmed that a meeting took place between the two leaders, with Megawati accompanied by Puan Maharani during the session with President Prabowo.
“Ibu Megawati informed me that it was a meeting between old friends and it proceeded amicably for more than two hours,” Hasto stated in his comments on Thursday, 19 March 2026.
During the meeting between the two leaders, they discussed strategic matters concerning the nation’s and state’s issues, as well as various geopolitical concerns.
According to Hasto, Megawati’s extensive experience, particularly as the Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia who successfully resolved multidimensional crises, including various policy approaches that always emphasise the importance of a sense of priority and sense of urgency, was one of the topics discussed in the meeting.
“Likewise, regarding geopolitical issues, especially Indonesia’s pioneering role in the Asian-African Conference, the Non-Aligned Movement, and various important roles in building a new world order through an active free foreign policy,” he said.
Hasto added that on this excellent occasion, Megawati also recounted her most recent visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
“PDI Perjuangan asserts that the Indonesian nation possesses a spirit of mutual cooperation,” Hasto stated.
