Hastin Bank gets ISO-9001

JAKARTA (JP): Certification agencies Societe Generale de
Surveillance and PT Sucofindo awarded ISO-9001 quality management
system certificate to Hastin Bank over the weekend.

The bank's president Anwary Surjaudaja said the ISO-9001
certificate was awarded to Hastin Bank for the design of banking
products and the provision of corporate and retail banking
services, including credits, treasury and trade, finance and
general banking operations.

"Hastin Bank is the first national bank to be awarded the ISO-
9001 certificate," Surjaudaja was reported by Antara as saying
here.

He also said that in 1996, a year marked by a tight monetary
situation, Hastin Bank posted a net profit of Rp 3.08 billion
(US$907,480), 6 percent higher than Rp 2.90 billion secured in
1995.
