Hashim's Child and Prabowo's Niece Visits IKN, Offers Unexpected Assessment
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Vice Chair of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, had the opportunity to visit the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) last Friday (10/07/2026). She stated that this visit marked the first time she and Commission VII have visited IKN to directly observe the development progress of the new capital region.
What were Rahayu’s impressions following the visit? Firstly, she expressed satisfaction with the current development of IKN, particularly regarding the high level of Domestic Component Level (TKDN) being utilised.
“This visit to IKN was certainly to observe progress. We are very pleased to hear that there is a sufficiently high TKDN, both in the procurement of goods and the involvement of local communities in the construction of IKN,” she said.
During the visit, she also advised the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, to continue involving MSMEs and local communities to generate added value and economic growth around the IKN area.
“MSMEs, especially small and medium industries (IKM), must certainly be involved. We must ensure that MSMEs are not left without space in IKN, as they represent a significant number of businesses. We have conveyed to Mr Basuki, Head of OIKN, to continue paying attention in the future, not just to physical readiness but also to the involvement of local communities and MSMEs,” she remarked.
She predicted that the progressing IKN will become an extraordinary, bustling city of the future that will make the Indonesian people proud.
“We must be patient because it is still under construction. Wait for it, because it will be extraordinary and unlike any other cities in Indonesia; it will be highly representative, and I believe everyone will be proud that Indonesia has IKN,” she concluded.
