Hashim Reveals Prabowo Feels Three Million Homes Programme Progressing Slowly
JAKARTA — Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of the Housing Task Force, has revealed that President Prabowo Subianto recently questioned the three million homes programme, deeming it to be progressing slowly.
“I was frank about it — a few weeks ago I met with the President and discussed this programme. He asked, ‘Why is the housing programme (three million homes) progressing rather slowly?’ It seemed slow to him, that was his impression,” Hashim said at Manggarai Station in Central Jakarta on Monday (16 March 2026).
Prabowo’s younger brother explained to the President why the housing programme was experiencing delays. “It’s only been a year, and so on and so forth. But actually the President wants this to move quickly,” Hashim stated.
He emphasised that the Housing Task Force was established precisely to expedite the process. Hashim also claimed that the three million homes programme represents an implementation of the fifth principle of Pancasila — “Social Justice for All Indonesian People”.
“We are moving towards the fifth principle so that our people truly feel the tangible benefits of Pancasila’s presence as the state ideology. It should not just be empty talk. Yes, empty talk, empty talk, no action, talk only. We read the fifth principle many times but we do not implement it,” he said.
