Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of the Housing Task Force, has stated that his business is not involved in the three million housing programme initiated by his brother, President Prabowo Subianto. According to him, the material requirements for construction materials in Prabowo’s project are substantial, ranging from cement, steel, and timber to furniture and electrical cables.

Hashim made these comments at the launching ceremony of housing development in Jakarta on 16 March 2026, in support of the three million housing programme. The event also formally inaugurated vertical housing units managed by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), as part of Prabowo’s three million housing project.

Speaking to PT KAI Managing Director Bobby Rasyidin, Hashim revealed that he previously owned a cement factory. “Actually, I used to have a cement factory, Pak Bobby. But I sold it in 2000 or 2001, I had to sell it. I remember thinking, with this programme, if I had a cement factory now, wow… that would be amazing. But it’s done, it’s done,” said Hashim.

Despite being aware of the profit potential behind the three million housing programme, Hashim claimed that the project is fundamentally intended for the people. Therefore, he invited construction companies and contractors to undertake the project.

“We have already agreed, yes. And I have already agreed that I as an individual and my family will not participate. This is all for contractors; we have no involvement,” he said.

Nevertheless, Hashim expressed openness to involvement in providing cheap internet access to PT KAI’s vertical housing units. On 12 November 2025, PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI) or Surge launched Internet Rakyat (IRA) commercially. Surge is a company partially owned by Hashim.

In line with the offer to provide cheap internet for the three million housing programme, Hashim stated his willingness to provide open access to data to supervisory bodies such as the Supreme Audit Board (BPK), the Financial and Development Supervision Board (BPKP), and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“Except for one thing, I am always open—cheap internet, Pak Bobby. One hundred thousand rupiah per month, beneficial. Perhaps I will arrange that later, yes. But it will be open, yes, to the BPK, BPKP, and KPK,” said Hashim.
