JAKARTA – Hashim Djojohadikusumo, chair of the Housing Task Force, has emphasised that he and his family will not be involved in the government’s 3 million housing unit development programme.

The statement was made by Hashim during the launch of the Housing Development Initiative to support the 3 Million Housing Programme in Manggarai, Jakarta, on Monday, 16 March 2026.

Hashim stated that the large-scale housing development programme will involve numerous supporting industrial sectors, ranging from cement manufacturers, furniture producers, electrical cable makers, steel producers, to timber suppliers.

“I previously owned a cement factory, but I sold it in 2001,” he said.

Hashim emphasised that he and his family will not take part in the development project, including in the contracting activities involved.

According to him, this step was taken to ensure the 3 million housing programme can operate transparently and provide broad benefits for the community.

PT KAI will develop approximately 2,200 apartment units in the area surrounding Manggarai Station in Jakarta, with prices ranging from Rp 500 million upwards.

The housing will be designed as a transit-oriented development area integrated with public transportation services.

KAI Chief Executive Officer Bobby Rasyidin stated that the housing development will be carried out in the area surrounding Manggarai Station, which is one of Jakarta’s major transportation hubs.

He explained that Manggarai Station will also be integrated with various other transportation modes, including the LRT being developed by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) and intermodal integration with Transjakarta.
