Hasanuddin University and China Develop Industrial Vocational Education and AI Talent
Makassar (ANTARA) – Hasanuddin University, through the Faculty of Vocational Studies, is strengthening international collaboration with industry and educational institutions from China, particularly in the development of artificial intelligence (AI).
The signing of the cooperation was conducted between Foshan Polytechnic, Guangdong Bangpu Recycling Technology Co., Ltd., Indonesia Buri Base, and the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Vocational Studies as part of the international program “1 + 10 + 100 + 1,000 + 10,000 Project” in Jakarta.
The Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies at Hasanuddin University, Muh Restu, in Makassar on Tuesday, said the programme focuses on the development of vocational education, strengthening industry talent, knowledge transfer, and the development of technology based on the needs of the global industry.
He explained that various collaborations open great opportunities for students and the academic community to increase internationalisation capacity while expanding the experience of collaboration with multinational industry.
“We want the graduates of Hasanuddin University’s Vocational Studies to be ready to work in a globally scaled industry. The university’s support for the development of vocational education is a major energy for us to continue to grow,” he said.
He is optimistic that cross-border collaboration can accelerate the transfer of technology and knowledge to vocational students.
Through the implementation of the programme, Indonesia and China also plan to develop AI-based training centres and cross-border e-commerce in various regions of Indonesia.
The programme is supported by investments in learning equipment in the form of computers and digital displays to support industry-based e-commerce training spaces.
The implementation activities of the “1 + 10 + 100 + 1,000 + 10,000 Project” take place at the Novotel Jakarta Pulo Mas, on Tuesday (19/5), and are linked with the agenda “China–Indonesia AI + Cross-Border E-Commerce Localisation Training and Industry Exchange Programme in Indonesia”.
