Hasan reveals his plans after being appointed as presidential advisor
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Special Advisor to the President on Communications Hasan Nasbi has revealed his plans following his inauguration into the new position by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday. Hasan, who has returned to the Red and White Cabinet, stated that he intends to work closely with the Indonesian Government’s Communication Agency (Bakom) and the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Kemenkomdigi). “So, as an assistant to the President, I will work very closely with my colleague at the new Bakom, Bang Qodari, and possibly also with the Minister of Communications and Digital, and the Deputy Minister,” said Hasan Nasbi in response to questions after the inauguration ceremony as Special Advisor to the President on Communications at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday. Hasan believes that close inter-agency cooperation can strengthen the government’s communication with the public, particularly in socialising policies and strategic government programmes. “(Close cooperation, ed.) to further strengthen the communication field issued by the government so that the messages intended (to be conveyed) to the public can be even better, reach much further, and be understood by society,” stated Hasan Nasbi. On the same occasion, Hasan also highlighted his role in clarifying information or news that is incorrect or untrue regarding the government and its performance. “We might later help the government in terms of strategy, in matters that are perhaps substantive,” said Hasan Nasbi. “If ordered by the President to step forward again (as spokesperson, ed.), we are ready,” said Hasan Nasbi in response to reporters’ questions. President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Hasan Nasbi as Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Indonesia on Communications during the inauguration ceremony of several state officials at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday. The inauguration of Hasan Nasbi was stipulated in Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 53 P of 2026 on the Appointment of Special Advisor to the President on Communications, signed by the President of Indonesia on 27 April 2026.
