President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has appointed Hasan Nasbi as Special Advisor to the President for Communications.

This is stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 53/P 2026 regarding the appointment of the special presidential advisor for communications.

Hasan previously served as Head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

He was first appointed as Head of the Presidential Communications Office on 19 August 2024, at the end of President Joko Widodo’s term, and continued in the role during President Prabowo Subianto’s era.

However, he was replaced on 17 September 2025, with his position taken by Angga Raka Prabowo, and his office was also renamed to the Government Communications Agency.

Afterwards, Hasan served as Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero).

Before entering the palace environment, Hasan was known as the founder of the survey institute Cyrus Network.

His statements have often been in the spotlight over the years. He once bet an Alphard car on his belief that Anies Baswedan would not run in the 2024 presidential election. However, his prediction failed. Anies ran at the time, backed by the Coalition of Change led by NasDem, PKB, and PKS.

Hasan is a graduate in Political Science from Universitas Indonesia. After graduating, he worked as a journalist for a year from 2005 to 2006. Hasan then became a researcher at the Centre for Political Studies at Universitas Indonesia from 2006 to 2008.

In the 2012 Jakarta regional election, Hasan served as a political consultant for Jokowi and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, alias Ahok.
