Hasan Nasbi Invited by Prabowo to Hambalang Meeting to Discuss Preventing Indonesia's Economic Crisis from War

JAKARTA — Hasan Nasbi, the former chief of the Presidential Communications Office, revealed that President Prabowo Subianto discussed the Middle Eastern war during a restricted meeting (ratas) at Hambalang, West Java, on Monday, 9 March 2026.

According to Hasan, Prabowo was seeking solutions to ensure Indonesia does not become caught in a crisis caused by the war.

Hasan was invited to the restricted meeting as a participant and said he merely listened since he is not a minister. Consequently, Hasan did not provide any input.

Subsequently, Hasan was called to meet with Prabowo again on Tuesday. This time, Hasan was asked to come to the Palace.

However, Hasan said he did not yet know why Prabowo had summoned him.

“This time I do not yet know the agenda. I will only be able to know, and only then be able to tell you what will be discussed, after it is finished,” he added.

Hasan Nasbi appeared to sit at the back, alongside Presidential Staff Office (KSP) chief M Qodari.

Hasan stated that he was only invited to attend the restricted meeting on Monday afternoon.

When he arrived at Prabowo’s private residence, the meeting was already underway. Hasan was then asked to listen to the course of the meeting.

“On Monday afternoon I was contacted by Palace protocol to attend a meeting at Hambalang. When I arrived, there was a meeting already taking place. I was directed to sit at the back to listen to the course of the meeting,” Hasan told Kompas.com on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

However, Hasan did not answer whether he was invited in his capacity as Pertamina Commissioner or had received a new position within the Palace.

“Try asking the Deputy Chief of Staff later. I am just a participant,” he said.
