Hasan Nasbi Called to Palace by Prabowo, What Was Discussed?
Former Presidential Communication Office (PCO) head Hasan Nasbi visited the palace in Jakarta this afternoon. Nasbi said he was called to meet with President Prabowo Subianto, but was unaware of what would be discussed.
“This afternoon at half past one, I was contacted via WhatsApp by the protocol office. There is an agenda with the President, but I don’t yet know what it is, to be honest I don’t know,” Nasbi told journalists at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, Thursday (12/3/2026).
Nasbi believed he would be invited to a meeting to discuss current conditions, including global geopolitics amid turmoil in the Middle East.
“Just topics about current conditions. We have this situation, and there is conflict abroad, so how does Indonesia respond to it so we are not caught in a crisis, what are the solutions, and so on,” he said.
“But it will be the ministers who speak, I will just listen. I won’t participate in the discussion, I will just listen,” he added.
Nasbi then spoke about himself having been invited to several meetings with Prabowo. He denied any suggestion of a new government position.
“Yes, I am invited to meetings, but not as anything in particular. I am not in any particular position yet,” he said.
When asked about an offer to join the cabinet again, Nasbi was reluctant to comment. He said there had been no offers so far.
“There has been no discussion about that. There is no talk about it yet. We will see,” he said.
Previously, Hasan Nasbi appeared to have attended a limited meeting (ratas) with President Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Monday evening (9/3).
Nasbi said he only listened during the limited meeting. The meeting discussed government strategic steps and preparations ahead of Eid.
“I just listened yesterday,” said Nasbi when contacted on Tuesday (10/3/2026).
Nasbi said he did not provide input during the meeting. He only took minutes of the meeting.
“I was not involved in giving suggestions or input, just taking notes,” he added.
