PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has opened an international flight route from HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport, Tanjung Pandan, Belitung Regency. The opening of this new route is an effort to provide ease of air travel for the public through the development of flight routes.

InJourney Airports’ President Director, Mohammad R. Pahlevi, stated that the opening of this new route has received full support from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation as the civil aviation regulator in Indonesia.

“The Ministry of Transportation and InJourney Airports are continuously improving flight connectivity at airports to ensure ease of public mobility as well as smooth flow of goods and logistics,” said Pahlevi in an official statement on Thursday (7/5/2026).

The route was successfully opened amid global challenges in the aviation sector, including rising avtur (aviation fuel) prices due to geopolitical sentiments in the Middle East.

“International flights in Belitung were closed during the Covid-19 pandemic. After years of closure, on 3 May 2026, the international route reopened, namely Belitung - Singapore - Belitung by Scoot airline,” he said.

“This serves as an excellent example of collaboration, considering that the opening of the flight service was successfully carried out amid existing challenges,” he continued.

“We thank the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation for the collaboration and support in promoting the optimisation of airports managed by InJourney Airports so that they can maximally contribute to the national economy and tourism,” said Pahlevi.

In addition to HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport, amid current challenges, the Ministry of Transportation and InJourney Airports are also strengthening connectivity at other airports such as Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

For the first time, Starlux airline will operate at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport starting in October 2026, serving the Bali - Taipei flight route.

“Starlux will operate for the first time at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport as planned in the coming October using an Airbus A320 aircraft,” he said.
