Haryono wins professorship

SURABAYA: Haryono Suyono, the State Minister of Population and
Chairman of the National Family Planning Board, was given an
honorary professorship of public health by Airlangga University
yesterday.

Haryono, with a doctorate in sociology, was conferred the
award after presenting an oration on family planning management.

His wife Astuty Hasinah and his children were present at the
ceremony, led by rector Bambang Rahino Setoksumo, the Antara news
agency reported.

Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Azwar Anas and
State Minister of Women's Affairs Mien Sugandhi were there to
congratulate Haryono as were East Java governor Basofi Soedirman
and chairman of the Indonesian Medical Association Kartono
