Harley-Davidson RMCR Concept: When an American Motorcycle Maker Builds a Café Racer

Harley-Davidson RMCR Concept was officially unveiled as the latest design study from the American motorcycle brand, Harley-Davidson. It was reported from Visordown that the bike presents a modern café racer style, pairing refined design lines with the Revolution Max engine that is a hallmark of the brand’s performance models. In appearance, the RMCR sports a sleek café racer silhouette with extensive carbon fibre components, visible on the front fairing around the headlamp, the upper fuel tank, and the tail section. Furthermore, carbon fibre components are used on the front fender, panels around the radiator, and under the seat, giving the RMCR a light, performance-oriented look. Technically, the RMCR uses the Revolution Max 1250 engine, the same unit found in the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250. Braking hardware appears from Brembo, while the exhaust system employs an Akrapovič 2-2 configuration. However, there is currently no confirmation whether this concept will go into production. If produced, the model could take Harley-Davidson further away from the cruiser and touring segments that have defined its identity. In a social media post, Harley-Davidson said the RMCR is inspired by the Harley-Davidson XLCR. This is Harley-Davidson’s modern interpretation of the classic rebel motorcycle, and a tribute to Willie G. Davidson, whose design guidance continues to steer the company today.
