Harkitnas Momentum, Pertamina Pushes National Energy Independence and Resilience
To commemorate Harkitnas 2026, Pertamina held a flag-raising ceremony at Pertamina’s Central Office Building in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The ceremony proceeded solemnly and was attended by Pertamina Group officers from the holding company down to subholdings and Pertamina Services subsidiaries. Ahmad Siddik Badruddin, Director of Risk Management at PT Pertamina (Persero), acted as the ceremony custodian and delivered the address on behalf of the Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Menkomdigi), Meutya Viada Hafid.
Themed ‘Guard the Nation’s Youth for National Sovereignty’, this year’s Harkitnas commemorations represent the spirit of safeguarding the motherland by protecting the next generation and strengthening national self-reliance across strategic sectors, including energy. ‘Under the leadership of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, the vision of self-reliance is realised through various national strategic programmes that directly touch the people’s basic needs,’ Siddik said in a statement on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
‘The spirit of Hari Kebangkitan Nasional is also an important momentum to strengthen collaboration, innovation, and good governance in maintaining national energy sustainability.’ Siddik added. ‘Hari Kebangkitan Nasional is an important moment to strengthen energy resilience through adaptive risk management. For Pertamina, integrated risk management forms a foundational pillar in safeguarding operational continuity and ensuring the national energy supply remains secure.’
He added that energy resilience is determined by the ability to adapt to global changes while ensuring energy sustainability for future generations.
‘Pertamina continues to strengthen risk governance across all lines of business, bolstering HSSE, digital transformation, and the development of low‑carbon energy to meet the challenges of future energy,’ he said.
Meanwhile, PT Pertamina (Persero) Vice President Corporate Communications, Muhammad Baron, said Harkitnas is a crucial moment for all Pertamina officers to keep alive the spirit of nationalism and reinforce their contribution to maintaining the nation’s energy resilience. ‘This spirit must continue to be nurtured within Pertamina. Let us rekindle the spirit of nationalism; Pertamina continues to develop the capacity to safeguard the mandate in support of national energy resilience,’ Baron said.
Baron noted that the spirit of Hari Kebangkitan Nasional should also be realised by society through support for national energy independence, including by using energy wisely. ‘There are many steps we can take, among others prudent use of energy. If done together, the impact will undoubtedly be considerable. This is also part of the national revival,’ concluded Baron.
