Harkitnas 2026: A Moment for Pertamina to Strengthen the Nation's Energy Resilience
Pertamina marks the 118th National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) as a moment to strengthen national energy resilience through business transformation, sustainable innovation, and adaptive risk management amid global dynamics. To mark Harkitnas 2026, Pertamina held a flag-raising ceremony at its central office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The ceremony was attended by Pertamina Group officers from the holding company, subholding, to its service subsidiaries. Ahmad Siddik Badruddin, Pertamina’s Director of Risk Management, acted as ceremony patron and read the address from the Minister of Communications and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Viada Hafid.
“Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, the vision of self-reliance is realised through various national strategic programmes that directly touch the basic needs of the people,” Siddik said in a press release received by Kompas.com on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
According to Siddik, Harkitnas serves as an important reminder to strengthen collaboration, innovation, and corporate governance in safeguarding national energy sustainability. “Harkitnas also serves as a momentum to strengthen adaptive risk management. For Pertamina, integrated risk management is a fundamental foundation in maintaining operational continuity and ensuring the national energy supply remains secure,” he added.
“Pertamina continues to strengthen risk governance across all lines of business. This is being undertaken through reinforcing the health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) aspects, digital transformation, and the development of low-carbon energy to address future energy challenges,” he said.
Vice President (VP) Corporate Communication, Pertamina, Muhammad Baron, said that Harkitnas provides an opportunity for all Pertamina officers to strengthen their contributions to safeguarding national energy self-sufficiency. “This spirit should be continuously cultivated within Pertamina. Let us rekindle the spirit of nationalism. In addition, Pertamina will continue to develop its capabilities to uphold the mandate in support of national energy resilience,” Baron said.
“There are many steps we can take, including using energy wisely. If this is done collectively, the impact will surely be substantial. This is also part of the national revival,” Baron emphasised.
