Hariyanto crashes in Korea Open

SEOUL (Agencies): World champion Hariyanto Arbi bundled out of
the Korean Open badminton championships as home favorites stole
the show yesterday.

The Indonesian top seed lost out to 12th seed Lee Kwan-jin 14-
18, 13-15 in a bruising quarterfinal match. Hariyanto, fresh from
his final appearance at the Japan Open last Sunday, had his
searing smashes held off by the stubborn Korean.

Park Sung-woo, making his debut after six-month lay-off
through leg injury, upset fourth seed Poul-Erik Hoyer-Larsen 15-
5, 17-15 in another quarterfinal match.
