Based on the guidelines, the flag-raising ceremony to commemorate National Education Day 2026 will be held in person at the central office of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and its regional work units, the central office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and its regional units, provincial/district/city government offices, provincial/district/city education offices, educational units throughout Indonesia, and Indonesian representative offices abroad as well as educational units overseas.

This is the schedule for the Hardiknas 2026 ceremony.

  • Day, date: Saturday, 2 May 2026

  • Time: 07:30 local time

  • Venue: Office/school grounds/field/other location agreed upon by the local organising committee.

  • Attire:

  1. Guests and ceremony participants shall wear simple regional/traditional attire*.

  2. Ceremony officials shall wear Ceremonial Duty Uniform (PDU) as per regulations.

Note:

*) The use of regional/traditional attire aims to nurture and maintain nationalism, love for the homeland, and preserve Indonesia’s cultural heritage. The attire must comply with decency norms, not hinder mobility, and not burden guests and participants.

Programme of the Hardiknas 2026 Flag-Raising Ceremony

The following is the programme for the 2026 Hardiknas commemoration ceremony.

  • The Master of Ceremonies enters the ceremony field;

  • The Inspecting Officer arrives at the ceremony venue;

  • Honour to the Inspecting Officer;

  • Report by the Master of Ceremonies;

  • Raising of the Red and White flag accompanied by the national anthem Indonesia Raya performed by the choir/vocal ensemble;

  • Moment of silence led by the Inspecting Officer;

  • Reading of the Pancasila text followed by all ceremony participants;

  • Reading of the text of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia;

  • Reading of the Indonesian Student Oath text followed by all students (specifically for formal educational units);

  • Reading of the Presidential Decree on the Conferment of the Satyalancana Karya Satya Honour and pinning of the badge to recipients (if any);

  • Address by the Inspecting Officer (Speech by the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education);

  • Singing of the Mandatory National Song;

  • Reading of the prayer*;

  • Report by the Master of Ceremonies;

  • Honour to the Inspecting Officer;

  • The Inspecting Officer leaves the rostrum;

  • Ceremony concluded, may be followed by additional events (specifically for formal educational units, singing and/or listening to the song Rukun Sama Teman together).

Note:

*) Before the prayer reading, the prayer reader is expected to explain that the ceremony prayer will be recited according to the Islamic faith, and invite non-Muslim participants to pray according to their respective religions and beliefs.
