Jakarta (ANTARA) -

Jakarta Utara Deputy Mayor Fredy Setiawan stated that the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) serves as a space for reflection to revitalise the spirit of national education.

“Education, in essence, is the process of humanising humans carried out with sincerity, love, and care. This forms the foundation in forging a strong and resilient generation,” said Fredy while leading the National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026 commemoration ceremony in Jakarta Utara on Monday.

According to him, the national policy direction that places education as the top priority in realising an advanced Indonesia aligns with the vision of developing superior and characterful human resources.

He mentioned that there are five strategic policies from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) that focus on strengthening education, namely the construction and revitalisation of educational units as well as the digitalisation of learning; improving the quality and welfare of teachers; strengthening the character of students; enhancing literacy and numeracy achievements; and expanding inclusive and flexible access to education.

The success of educational development cannot proceed alone and requires strong collaboration from all elements. From schools, families, communities to the media as part of an integrated educational ecosystem.

He added that the foundation for quality education has already been established, and what is needed is real synergy from all parties, including the business world and educational partners.

He emphasised the importance of the 3M principles as the key to successful educational development, namely an advanced mindset, strong mentality, and upright mission.

“With the spirit of Hardiknas, let us strengthen collaboration to realise quality education for all, towards a smart, advanced, and dignified Indonesia,” said Fredy.
