Hard talk on mining

JAKARTA (JP): Dozens of the country's mining executives and analysts will gather at the Hilton Hotel in South Jakarta on Dec. 17 for a half-day discussion on mining.

The Association of Indonesian Mining Professionals (Perhapi) said in a statement on Saturday that the discussion, entitled Hard Talk on Mining, would feature economists Faisal Basri, Didiek J Rachbini and Lukman Soetrisno, legislator Priyo Budi Santoso and former legislator Tadjudin Noer Said.

Director General of Mining at the Ministry of Mines and Energy Rozik B. Soetjipto, Director General of Geology and Mineral Resources Darmoko Slamet, Indonesian Mining Association secretary-general B.N. Wahyu and PT Freeport Indonesia president Adrianto Machribie will also speak at the forum.

"Hard Talk on Mining aims to study various issues regarding foreign mining investment in the country in a constructive way," the statement said. (jsk)
