Cadres of the People’s Conscience Party (Hanura) in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have been reported to be defecting en masse to the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). However, the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of Hanura NTB has denied this claim.

Ahmad Dahlan, alias Leo, the Chairman of the DPD of the Hanura Party NTB, stated that Mohammad Casman is not a cadre of his party in Bima City. According to him, Casman’s claim to be the Chairman of the Bima City DPC Hanura is a mistake.

“Mr Casman is no longer a Hanura Party cadre. The position of Chairman of the DPC Hanura Bima City is held by Amiruddin H Muchtar. He was appointed during the branch consultation (muscab) in October 2025,” said Leo when met at his office on Monday (20/4/2026).

The man who sits as a member of Commission IV of the NTB Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) said that Casman has been recorded as inactive as a Hanura Party administrator since July 2025. At that time, Casman was asked to hold the Muscab Hanura Bima City, but it was ignored.

“So at that time we asked Casman to organise the preparatory meeting for the Muscab DPC Bima City. When confirmation was made to the muscab committee, there was no response from Casman. For two weeks there was no response back to prepare the muscab,” explained Leo.

On that basis, the Hanura NTB party leadership then took over the implementation of the muscab. Thus, said Leo, the Muscab DPC Hanura Bima City held in October 2025 appointed Amiruddin H Muchtar as the Chairman of Hanura Bima City for the 2025-2030 period. Amiruddin is a two-term member of the Bima City DPRD.

“So I am clarifying that the person in question (Casman) is no longer the Chairman of the DPC Hanura Bima City. The person’s statement claiming to be the Hanura Chairman is a personal right. And it is no longer on behalf of the Hanura Party,” Leo emphasised.

In fact, Leo said that during Casman’s tenure as chairman before being replaced by Amiruddin, the Hanura Bima City party was observed to be dormant. All branch and sub-branch administrators were never seriously managed by Casman.

“Dormant during Casman’s hold, never managed. And Casman did not participate in the 2024 legislative election contest,” Leo emphasised.

Denying Cadre Exodus to PSI

Leo denied Casman’s statement that 2,500 Hanura Party Bima City cadres would defect to PSI. According to him, the issue of thousands of cadres moving to PSI is merely an issue herding tactic carried out by Casman.

“This is just issue herding. In fact, the new chairman continues to strengthen cadres to ensure ammunition for the 2029 legislative election. So that statement is just a personal claim, the current Bima City Hanura Chairman has already prepared the secretariat office, the party structure has been formed. Everything is in process, basically,” Leo emphasised.

Leo feels aggrieved by Casman’s statement. Ideally, explained Leo, people outside the Hanura Party should not make statements that are less than favourable on behalf of the party. Moreover, the Hanura Party is currently also preparing administrators down to the branch level, both in Bima City and Bima Regency.

“We assure that Casman is no longer a Hanura cadre. So we have also targeted the number of seats in Bima City to increase from the 2024 legislative election where we only got one seat. We target for 2029 there will be an addition of seats for the DPC Bima City,” explained Leo.

Previously reported, former DPC Hanura Bima City, Mohammad Casman, along with cadres, have defected en masse to PSI. They have even obtained a decree (SK) from the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of PSI to form the DPD PSI Bima City.

“Yes, that’s true, we have switched to PSI,” said Casman to detikBali on Sunday (19/4/2026).

Casman is a former cadre and senior politician of the Hanura Party Bima City. He once served as secretary for two terms until becoming Chairman of the DPC Hanura Bima City. “Before moving to PSI, I have been a Hanura party cadre for 20 years,” he said.

Besides himself, Casman claimed that the PAC Chairmen of Hanura throughout the Bima City area have also switched and joined PSI. The reason is that they see the prospects of PSI becoming a major party in the future.

“Hanura sympathisers and loyalists, numbering around 2,500 people in Bima City, are also directed to strengthen PSI at the grassroots level,” explained Casman.
