Hanta Yuda Reveals 5 Things the Prabowo-Gibran Administration Must Do to Boost Approval Rating
The approval rating of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration is believed to be capable of rising optimally once again.
Referring to the latest findings from Poltracking Indonesia, the high level of public trust reaching 63.2 percent serves as crucial capital for the government to restore its performance through the execution of five strategic agendas.
“The gap between trust at 63.2% and approval at 55.1% is room for the government to carry out recovery, and this is very, very possible. The government is not experiencing a crisis of trust; what is occurring is a warning alarm of a potential satisfaction crisis,” said Poltracking Indonesia Executive Director Hanta Yuda during the release of the National Survey ‘Reading the Trend of Public Satisfaction with the Prabowo-Gibran Administration’, quoted on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
Despite there being evaluative notes from the public, the community’s response is in fact still relatively positive across a number of fundamental sectors.
The government’s performance in the fields of Education, Social and Cultural Affairs, Health, as well as Defence and Security has succeeded in recording impressive figures, with all of them managing to exceed a satisfaction level of above 60 percent.
To bridge the satisfaction gap and spur positive achievements, there are concrete steps that must be taken. Hanta Yuda stated that these policy agendas need to be implemented to restore the blue report card of the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s performance.
“The government must immediately carry out 5 agendas to restore the approval rating,” Hanta explained.
The initial agenda focuses on protecting the public’s purchasing power and creating jobs on a massive scale. This includes strengthening the social safety net such as Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) to secure vulnerable groups.
Furthermore, other agendas include calibrating and sharpening flagship programmes such as Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMP) so that their welfare benefits are precisely targeted. The government is also required to have a firm commitment to law enforcement and eradicating corruption in order to maintain the dignity of the judiciary.
In addition, the harmonisation of the relationship between the President and Vice President needs to be maintained. This is of course accompanied by a climate of checks and balances with a proportional opposition in parliament, which is an absolute requirement for a healthy democratic ecosystem.
Overall, the foundation of legitimacy for the Prabowo-Gibran duo has proven to remain very solid in the eyes of the people. Armed with trust capital of 63.2 percent and the willingness to accelerate the implementation of the five improvement agendas, the government’s steps to realise the nation’s welfare vision are believed to proceed increasingly smoothly.
