Hanta virus outbreak in the middle of the ocean reaches land in Indonesia?

The hanta virus is a group of viruses transmitted from rodents such as rats to humans, causing serious infections. The virus is transmitted through the urine, faeces or saliva of infected rats and can trigger severe respiratory problems or kidney problems.

This virus caused a stir in the world when it broke out on the MV Hondius cruise ship, resulting in three deaths and several others falling ill.

The virus was also detected in Indonesia, after being confirmed by the government on Monday, May 11. However, according to the Ministry of Health, the hanta virus has been present in Indonesia since 1991.
