Hanoi separates Siamese twins
HANOI (Reuter): Baby Siamese twins who were joined at the abdomen were separated in a one-hour operation in Hanoi last month and were released in good health from hospital yesterday, official media reports said.
Ly and Lan, four-month-old girls from Vietnam's northern border province of Quang Ninh, had shared ligaments, cartilage and an appendix before the operation.
The daily Saigon Giai Phong said the separation was the third of its kind in Vietnam since 1973.
