HANOI (AFP): Singapore's Kecepe Limited has won a license to
build a US$30 million sugar plant in a central Vietnamese
province, a report said Saturday.
The plant to be built in Thua Thien Hue will produce refined
sugar and derivatives from sugar, the Lao Dong newspaper said.
Construction will start at the end of this month and production
is expected to begin in 1999.
The plant will have an initial capacity of 2,500 tons of sugar
cane per day which will be expanded to 5,000 by 2000.
