PT Hankook Tire Indonesia (Hankook) is strengthening its support for educational infrastructure in Bekasi Regency, West Java, by distributing 2ability 250 sets of furniture to five primary schools. This support targets schools recommended by the Bekasi Regency Government based on their specific learning facility requirements.

The five recipient schools are SDN 2 Cicau, SDN Pasirtanjung 1, SDN Hegarmukti 3, SDN Sukamanah 4, and SDN Kalijaya 5. The distributed furniture consists of desks and chairs designed to support teaching and learning activities.

The symbolic handover took place at SDN Pasirtanjung 1, attended by the headteachers of the five recipient schools. The provision of these facilities aims to improve infrastructure and enhance the comfort of both students and educators during learning activities.

Jung Jinkyun, President Director of PT Hankook Tire Indonesia, stated that the distribution was carried out in coordination with the Bekasi Regency Government to ensure it meets the community’s needs.

“Through initiatives in the fields of education, environmental safety, and access to clean water, we are committed to strengthening the foundation of quality of life and sustainable development in this region,” Jung said in a press release on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

In addition to educational facilities, Hankook’s support in Bekasi Regency includes public street lighting (PJU). To date, the company has distributed 60 LED lamp units to be installed at various locations based on local government recommendations.

Street lighting has been placed in Pasirtanjung Village, which serves as an alternative route for Hankook employees. Lighting has also been installed around Hegarmukti Village, which is being developed as a potential tourism area.

Further support targets access to clean water. According to data from the Bekasi Regency Government provided by the company, clean water service coverage in 2024 reached approximately 40 per cent and is targeted to increase to 60 per cent by 2027.

Hankook has distributed two water pump installations to communities around the company’s operational area. One of these is located in Wibawamulya Village, Cibarusah District.

The Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, stated that the company’s support helps meet community needs, particularly in the education and environmental facility sectors.

“This assistance is a tangible form of the company’s care in supporting community needs, specifically in education and environmental facilities, while simultaneously improving the quality of life for the people of Bekasi Regency,” said Asep.
