Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the acceleration of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) development. This is reflected in the positive progress achieved on the Hankam Area Road Project and Sepaku Ring Road 4 entrusted by the Ministry of Public Works through the Directorate General of Highways, with the current project progress reaching 62.83%.

This project plays a strategic role as the main connectivity infrastructure linking the defence and security area with access to the legislative zone in the Kawasan Inti Pusat Pemerintahan (KIPP) IKN. WIKA’’s scope of works includes the construction of a road about 10.964 kilometres long, the construction of a Multi Utility Tunnel (MUT), six-lane road pavement, and bridge construction. The infrastructure is designed to support efficient mobility, smooth distribution of government logistics, and the sustainable integration of underground utilities.

In addition to strengthening connectivity of the core government area, the project also provides long-term benefits including improved accessibility between strategic zones in the IKN, acceleration of movement of personnel and defence-security logistics, and support for economic activity around the development area. The presence of the road and the integrated utility system is expected to create a more orderly, modern, and sustainable spatial layout, while also becoming a foundation for the development of an integrated zone.

WIKA President Director, Agung Budi Waskito, said that the achievement is the result of optimising implementation strategies and the collaboration of the project team on the ground. “We continue to accelerate work on the critical stretches while maintaining quality and safety standards. The Hankam Road and Sepaku Ring Road project is a tangible contribution by WIKA to support the government’s Asta Cita vision, particularly in strengthening infrastructure connectivity, promoting development equity, and improving the competitiveness of the IKN area,” said Agung BW.

Several major works have shown significant progress, including partial completion of the Multi Utility Tunnel, earthworks and geosynthetics, granular paving and concrete cement, as well as progress on bridge structures. Currently, the focus of work is directed at completing Bridge Route 3.1, the Paspampres Access Bridge to the HPK Junction, the continuation of MUT construction, and road pavement on several route segments.

All work stages are carried out with adherence to Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards and stringent quality control through routine inspections, material testing, and monitoring of adaptive working methods. Moving forward, WIKA aims to complete the main structures so that this project can soon function as the backbone of the road network supporting the integrated development of KIPP IKN.
