Hanged man feared to be suicide

JAKARTA (JP): A 23-year-old jobless man is believed to have
committed suicide by hanging himself with a plastic rope in his
room at his parents' house on Jl. Raya Pondok Gede, Lubang Buaya,
in East Jakarta yesterday.

The body of Tji Ci Cang, alias Frans Witono was found at 7
a.m. when one of his housemaids knocked on the door of his room
on the top floor of his parents' five-story shop/house.

His motive is still unclear.

According to his brother, who refused to be named, the
housemaid intended to wake Frans to take a phonecall from a
friend.

He admitted that Frans had had a quarrel with their 67-year-
old father, Affandi, who was unhappy with Frans, a university
dropout who often spent Affandi's money gambling and in
entertainment spots.

"My father can't accept such a life and he urged Frans to find
a job or get married," he added, declining to mention the details
of Sunday's quarrel.

Ciracas police summoned Affandi for questioning over his son's
