Handover Ceremony for National Police Chief and Deputy Chief Held Today
The handover ceremony (Sertijab) for the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) from General Listyo Sigut Prabowo to General Suyudi Ario Seto is being held today. The proceedings will commence with a ceremony for the presentation of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) banners.
During the ceremony, General Sigit will hand over the command baton of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police to General Suyudi. The handover of the command baton and the Tribrata Banner serves as the official marker that the leadership of the Polri has officially transitioned to General Suyudi Ario Seto.
The Head of Public Relations for the Polri Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the agenda is scheduled to take place from midday through to the afternoon. The series of activities will be centred at the National Police Headquarters and Bhayangkara Field, South Jakarta.
“The event will begin at Bhayangkara Field at approximately 14:00 WIB with the traditional ceremony for the presentation of the Polri banners and a farewell parade,” Trunoyudo told reporters on Friday (2/10/2026).
Following the banner presentation and parade, the programme will continue with a ceremony marking the conclusion of duty for General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and General Dedi Prasetyo. This ceremony signifies that the terms of General Sigit as Chief of Police and General Dedi as Deputy Chief have concluded.
“This will be followed at 15:00 by the duty conclusion ceremony for General Listyo Sigit Prabrot and General Dedi Prasetyo,” he continued.
The leadership transition will conclude with a traditional farewell parade in the late afternoon. During this segment, the new Chief of Police, General Suyudi, and the new Deputy Chief, Commissioner General Wahyu, will escort General Sigit and General Dedi to the gates of the National Police Headquarters.
“The traditional farewell ceremony for General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and General Dedi Prasetyo will take place at 17:00 WIB,” added Trunoyudo.
It was previously reported that President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated General Suyudi Ario Seto as the Chief of Police and Commissioner General Wahyu Hadiningrat as the Deputy Chief. This leadership change follows parliamentary mechanisms, where Suyudi underwent a fit and proper test at Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) and was ultimately approved by acclamation in a plenary session.
Meanwhile, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has been officially appointed by President Prabowo Subianto as the Chief of Staff to the Presidency (KSP). President Prabowo also conferred the Bintang Mahaputera Adipurna honour upon General Sigit in recognition of his dedication and service.
On the same occasion, President Prabowo also inaugurated Commissioner General Wahyu Hadiningrat as the Deputy Chief of Police. Wahyu replaces Dedi Prasetyo, who has been entrusted to lead the National Agrarian Reform Agency (BRAN).
President Prabowo also bestowed the Bintang Mahaputera Adipradana honour upon Dedi Prasetyo for his extraordinary services in maintaining the integrity and glory of the Republic of Indonesia.
