JAKARTA — Following his dismissal from the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in connection with a drug trafficking case in East Kalimantan, AKP Deky Jonathan Sasting arrived at the Bareskrim Polri building in South Jakarta on Monday (18/05/2026) at 17:42 WIB.

Observations showed that Deky arrived in a black vehicle accompanied by the Bareskrim Polri team. Wearing a black jacket and handcuffed, he was under heavy guard by the investigators. When approached by members of the media regarding his case, Deky remained silent as he was escorted via lift to an interrogation room for further questioning.

“We are picking up AKP Deky from the East Kalimantan Regional Police to be brought to Bareskrim Polri to follow up on allegations of money laundering,” stated Kevin, when met at the Bareskrim building on Monday afternoon. He noted that the case against Deky is a development following the arrest of a drug kingpin named Ishak in Melak, West Kutai.

Kevin confirmed that AKP Deky will undergo examination at Bareskrim Polri specifically regarding suspected money laundering (TPPU). However, he did not disclose the total amount of illicit funds allegedly received by Deky in relation to the narcotics case.

Previously, the Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that AKP Deky Jonathan Sasiang was proven to be a protector or ‘backer’ for drug trafficking within the legal jurisdiction of West Kutai, East Kalimantan. Eko explained that Deky was apprehended by a joint team comprising Sub-directorate II, Sub-directorate IV, and the NIC Task Force of the Directorate of Narcotics Crimes, Bareskrim Polri.
