Handcuffed: Former National Nutrition Agency Head Dadan Hindayana Detained by Attorney General's Office

The former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has been detained by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). Dadan was seen wearing a pink detainee vest as he was escorted out of the Jampidsus building of the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon.

Dadan remained silent as he was led into the detention vehicle, with his hands visibly handcuffed. This development follows his removal from office by President Prabowo Subintanto on Tuesday. Earlier that morning, investigators from the Attorney General’s Office had conducted a search of the BGN offices.

While the specific details of the charges against Dadan have not yet been fully disclosed, the Chief of Staff to the President, Dudung Abdurrachman, confirmed that one of the reasons for his dismissal involves allegations regarding the alleged sale of SPPG or MBG kitchens. Speaking at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Dudung stated that the President had received significant information regarding the matter, confirming that the alleged transaction was indeed a factor in the dismissal.
